DiSIEM PARTNERS

The DiSIEM consortium brings together an unique combination of academic and industrial experts in diverse fields to realize the vision of the project.

The FCiências.ID – Associação para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento de Ciências (FCiências.ID) is a non-profit private association, created in 2017 as an common initiative of Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL) and 6 private companies, in order to support, potentiate and develop R&D and innovation activities of its seven associates. FCiências.ID acts as the legal front institution of multiple research units, from different scientific fields, carrying out research work and managing financial and administratively R&D projects. The Navigators research group of the LASIGE research center will be the key persons involved in the DiSIEM project.

City University London is a research-intensive university based in London, UK. Two research centres, based at the Department of Computer Science at the School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering participates in DiSIEM. The Centre for Software Reliability (CSR) was founded in 1983 to address the new reliability problems posed by software. Its scope of research now covers various aspects of system dependability and resilience, including quantitative methods for security assessment, dependability of human-machine systems, and assessment of interdependent critical infrastructures. The giCentre is a research group internationally known expertise in geographical information, user-centred information visualisation design & implementation and visual analytics. We design, develop, apply and evaluate techniques for visualising and interacting with data: from sophisticated “big data” visualisation to elegant personalised data presentation; from advanced computational visual analytics to engaging visual story telling; from cartography and geographic information systems to statistical graphics.

The EDP – Energias de Portugal, SA. Group is a utility present in 14 countries with over 12000 employees and more than 10 million electricity and natural gas clients. The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V. is with more than 20,000 employees and 2 Billion Euro annual research budget one of the leading organisations for applied research world-wide. The Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) is the Fraunhofer Society’s “data institute” and one of the most renowned research institutions in the data science area, with an extremely strong track record in data mining, machine learning, visual analytics, semantic technologies, information retrieval and software engineering.

In particular, the key persons involved in the DiSIEM project belongs to the Cybersecurity Laboratory within ARI. The Cybersecurity Laboratory conducts research in trust, security and privacy domains for the improvement of IT security, as well as the increase of trust and dependability in systems and services. Its research areas include among others: cyber security, compliance & policy management, secure software engineering, security in virtualized environments, automated reconfiguration of security and high performance Security Event and Information Management (SIEM) systems.
